The Southampton Medical Society is one of the oldest provincial medical societies with records going back to at least 1853 and almost certainly its origins predate this.
The meetings take place at the AMPFIELD GOLF CLUB. Winchester Rd, Ampfield, Romsey SO51 9BQ
The meetings are held on the first Wednesday of the month {except January} please check on the "events" pages.

Most members dine before the evenings business and talk though you can just attend for the talk. Occasionally w Zoom a meeting. Unfortunately this is not always possible.
Dinner is served art or just after 7pm and consists of a three course meal. It is an informal occasion. The talks usually start at 8.45pm. Non dining members can come at any time before this and can have coffee or a drink in the bar.

Dinners ordered must be paid for in the event of non- attendance. The Golf Club restaurant has asked the Society to give them the numbers expecting to dine one week in advance of the event. Small amendments may be possible by emailing or phoning Alister Hutchin up to the Monday morning before the meeting. It may not be possible to make change though. The Club are very generous in that they usually do not charge for cancellations due to illness.

You can contact Alister on 02380292925, 07905540148 or alisterhutchin@btinternet.com or you can leave a message through this website on the ‘contact’ page [but best not use it for last minute changes to bookings]

Consultants and General Practitioners are most welcome to join and the Society is always delighted if junior staff and medical students, who are all honorary members, wish to attend. The current programme for this season, contact and membership details, a short history of the Society and a precis of the talks at previous meetings are all available on this website.
